We recommend reviewing our vaccine requirements, health window, and check in times before requesting a reservation. If you have questions or are unsure if Renaissance is the right fit for your pet, we are always happy to talk it through.
Why do I sometimes see a “Website Not Secure” message when opening my invoice?
This message is most commonly seen by clients using Safari, especially on iPhones and iPads. Safari can be extra cautious when opening secure invoice links directly from email.
Please know that our invoice system is fully encrypted and secure. The warning does not indicate a problem with your invoice or with Renaissance Pet Resort & Spa.
Is my personal or payment information safe?
Yes.
All invoices and client portals are transmitted using industry standard encryption. At no point is your personal or payment information exposed or shared.
Why does this happen on Safari but not other browsers?
Safari sometimes has difficulty verifying secure invoice links that are generated dynamically and opened directly from an email. This can cause Safari to display a warning even when the site is fully secure.
Other browsers such as Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge handle these secure links without showing a warning.
What should I do if I see this message?
You have a few easy options:
• Open the invoice link using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge
• Copy the invoice link and paste it directly into your browser
• If using Safari, you may choose to mark the site as trusted if prompted
Any of these options will allow you to view your invoice normally.
Is there an issue with your billing system?
No.
We use a secure, industry trusted pet care management platform. The message you’re seeing is related to how Safari handles certain secure links, not a problem with our system.
Still having trouble?
Our team is always happy to help. Please contact us and we’ll make sure you get the information you need quickly and securely.
Do you offer tours?
Yes, we do. No appointment is needed for a tour. As long as our office is open, we are happy to show you around. Transparency is very important to us and we truly believe you should feel comfortable and confident about where your pet will be staying.
Can I bring my pet with me on the tour?
Absolutely. We love meeting our future guests.
If current vaccination records are available, pets may accompany parents during the tour as directed by staff. If vaccination records are not available at the time of the tour, pets are more than welcome to relax in our office with staff members while parents take the tour. This allows us to maintain a safe environment for all guests while still welcoming pets.
Is someone really there overnight?
Yes. Our overnight shift is a true working shift. Staff members are on site and actively caring for pets, not simply present for emergencies. Team members are available 24 hours a day to meet the individual needs of our guests.
How often do pets go outside?
Pets go outside every few hours throughout the day. In addition to scheduled playtimes, staff are always available to accommodate individual potty needs outside the normal schedule.
How does playtime work?
Playtime begins after breakfast and continues throughout the day until after dinner. There is no additional charge for playtime. Potty breaks outside of playtime are included as well.
Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa has nine outdoor play yards, which allows us to rotate groups, manage energy levels, and keep playtime safe and enjoyable. Our staff is wonderful at finding the right friends for dogs that enjoy playing with others. Grouping is always a thoughtful balance of age, play style, energy level, and motivation. Not every dog wants the same kind of play, and we respect that.
Do pets get rest time too?
Yes, and this is very important to us. With all the excitement of play and activity, pets need time to rest and recharge. Guests are offered both a morning and an afternoon rest period so they do not become overtired or overstimulated. Think of it like kindergarten, lots of fun balanced with naps.
Do you offer daycare?
Yes. Daycare is available to people friendly dogs and cats.
Some dogs prefer playing with people rather than other dogs and that is perfectly okay. We want each pet to have the kind of day that makes them happiest.
Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa may not be the right fit for every pet, and that’s okay. Our goal is always to make sure each guest is comfortable, safe, and well cared for.
Do you board cats?
Yes, we do, and our cats enjoy a very different experience than traditional kennel housing.
Our cattery is a free roam, neutral space designed to allow cats to explore comfortably and at their own pace. There are a variety of cozy beds, cubbies, and plenty of high places for cats to climb, observe, and relax in a low stress environment.
Our resident house cat, Timmy, does a fantastic job of helping feline guests feel welcome. He helps set the tone and creates a calm, social atmosphere for cats that enjoy companionship, while still allowing space for those who prefer independence.
The goal of our cattery is simple — to give cats a calm, enriching stay that feels as close to home as possible.
Do you board birds or small animals?
Yes, we do.
Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa offers boarding for birds and select small animals. We have a dedicated aviary located in our office, allowing birds to stay in a calm, social environment where they are easily monitored throughout the day. We are happy to provide a bird cage if needed, or you are welcome to bring your own.
We also board guinea pigs, rabbits, and yes, we have even boarded goldfish. Each guest is cared for individually, with attention to their specific housing, feeding, and comfort needs.
If you are considering boarding a bird or small animal, we encourage you to reach out ahead of time so we can make sure we are the right fit and properly prepared for their stay.
How did Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa get started?
Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa was truly a family vision.
Both Katryn and Don came from the service dog and guide dog world. Katryn brought her background in veterinary care and hands on service dog training, while Don served as an Executive Director in the guide dog field. Don also brought decades of construction experience and personally designed the facility with safety, comfort, and functionality in mind.
Just as important to Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa is the amazing team that brings it to life every day. Our staff comes from a wide range of backgrounds and genuinely loves coming to work. Their care, consistency, and heart are a big part of what allows Renaissance to continue to be such a special place.
We love that many of our team members think of themselves as our guests’ aunts and uncles. That sense of family, combined with experience and structure, is what allows Renaissance to care for pets the way we do.
Every detail of Renaissance, from the physical design to daily routines, reflects that shared commitment.
What vaccines are required?
For dogs, current DHPP, Bordetella, and Rabies are required.
For cats, current FVRCP and FeLV (Feline Leukemia) are required.
Vaccination records must be on file before participating in boarding, daycare, or tours beyond the office area.
Is there a health window before arrival?
Yes. We ask that pets not visit a veterinary office, daycare, boarding facility, or grooming salon within 14 days prior to arriving at Renaissance.
While those places provide important services, they also have the potential to share germs. We do our very best to keep Renaissance as clean and germ free as possible, and this short buffer helps protect all of our guests.
Do you have breed restrictions?
No. We do not have breed restrictions. We do ask that pets be comfortable and social with people. We love to love on them.
What happens if there is an emergency?
During registration, you will complete documents that give us clear instructions on how you would like emergencies handled for your pet. Having this information ahead of time allows us to act quickly and confidently if ever needed.
Can my pet stay on their regular food and schedule?
Yes, and we encourage it. Special diets are always welcome and we do our best to keep pets on the same routine they have at home.
Meals are offered at breakfast, lunch, and dinner or any combination of those times. If additional meals are needed, they can be added for an additional charge.
What should I bring from home?
You are welcome to bring a few toys, a blanket, or one personal clothing item that smells like home. We provide all beds, bedding, bowls, and litter boxes for our feline guests.
Can you administer medications?
Yes. Medication administration is $1 per dose.
Do you care for diabetic pets?
Yes. Diabetic care is $6 per day.
Do you offer extra care for puppies or senior pets?
Yes. We offer a Puppy and Senior Care Package for pets who benefit from extra attention. This program is $20 per day and provides additional one on one care, monitoring, and support for pets with special needs.
Do pets need to be house trained?
Yes. We do expect pets to be house trained.
Our daily routine is designed to give pets many opportunities for success. However, additional fees may apply if extra cleaning is required due to repeated marking, urinating, or defecating in rooms beyond what would be considered normal accidents.
Do you offer grooming?
Yes.
Grooming appointments are welcome as a stand alone service, or grooming can be combined with boarding or daycare so your pet goes home clean, fresh, and relaxed.
A $25 deposit is required at the time of booking to confirm grooming appointments. Grooming appointments may be canceled for a full refund with at least 48 hours notice.
How do I manage reservations and my pet’s information?
Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa uses a secure client portal where pet parents can request reservations, upload vaccination records, purchase packages, and send messages to our team.
Is there a mobile app?
Yes. We use the Renaissance Pet Resort app by Doggy Mobile Apps, available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
I see a security or “not secure” message when opening links in Safari. Is it safe?
Yes, it is safe. This message is related to how Safari handles certain email links and certificates and is not a security issue with our system. Safari is simply being extra cautious.
You may safely proceed, save the site as trusted, or use Chrome or another browser for the smoothest experience. If you ever have questions, our office team is happy to help.
What is the best way to contact Renaissance Pet Resort and Spa?
We offer several easy ways to get in touch.

We do not offer live cameras. Instead, we focus on hands on care and daily photo updates, which we feel provides a more meaningful and less stressful experience for pets while still keeping families connected.
