We opened Renaissance Pet Resort & Spa in August 2002 with one mission: to reimagine pet boarding as a place of comfort, warmth, and trust. After visiting countless facilities and finding none that truly reflected the way we felt about our own pets, we decided to build something different, something better, from the ground up.
Renaissance was born from the belief that pets are family, and that every dog, cat, or bird deserves a home away from home that is as safe, serene, and nurturing as their own.
Over the years, we’ve welcomed thousands of pets and built lasting relationships with the families who love them. Our original companions—Wally the Golden Retriever, Bisoux the Bichon, Frasier the cat, Monty, our big, blue-eyed white cat, Piper, our brave three-legged cancer survivor, and a number of beloved resident birds—have since crossed the Rainbow Bridge. These include Scarlett, our magnificent Scarlet Macaw, Timber, our joyful African Grey, and Carusso, our charming Red-Headed Lored. Their voices once filled our lobby, and their spirits still echo in our hearts and likely yours too.
Today, our extended family includes Elvis, a rescued Australian Shepherd with a big heart, and Penelope, a once-feral cat who now reigns with quiet confidence. At Renaissance, we are still home to three resident birds who bring warmth and song to the front office: Wally the African Grey, Louie the Yellow-Naped Amazon, and Baby Girl the Cockatiel, best known for her delightful rendition of The Andy Griffith Show theme song.
Every inch of our facility was thoughtfully designed to offer your pets the very best. From peaceful boarding suites and enriching daycare programs to our expert grooming spa and specialty pet boutique, we provide luxury accommodations, play-based socialization, professional grooming, and a curated selection of premium pet products, all with a focus on health, comfort, and heartfelt care. We have installed high-efficiency air conditioning systems throughout all our buildings because your pet’s comfort—and the comfort of our staff—is just as important as the services we provide. We do not rely on swamp coolers, ensuring a consistently clean, cool, and relaxing environment no matter the season. Our outdoor play areas are thoughtfully designed with a combination of concrete, gravel, and artificial grass. Over the years, we have learned that artificial grass is especially beneficial for pets with allergies, providing a cleaner, more comfortable surface for play and exercise.
At Renaissance, we are more than just a pet resort, we’re a 24-hour sanctuary. While we maintain regular office hours for check-ins, appointments, and guest services, our dedicated team is on-site and actively caring for pets around the clock. Day or night, your pet is never alone. Whether it’s late-night reassurance or early-morning routines, our staff is always present to provide attentive, loving care every hour of the day.
At Renaissance, we do not discriminate against any breed. We welcome pets with special needs, unique personalities, or those who simply do not play well with others. For our more selective guests, we offer staff-only playtime and customized enrichment, ensuring every pet receives the individualized care they deserve.
And it is not just dogs and cats. If it is family, we have a loving place for it. Over the years, we have proudly boarded ducks, pigs, guinea pigs, iguanas, rabbits, and even goldfish. We believe love has no species limit.
We are proud to have been named one of the Best Pet Businesses in the Inland Empire for many years, and even prouder to serve clients from across Southern California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Washington, and as far as Canada. Wherever you are from, when you come to Renaissance, you are home.
Renaissance Pet Resort & Spa. Where pets stay like family.
Our lives are also graced by four wonderful felines, Polly, Penelope, Ed, Cheyenne & Molly. Polly, Cheyenne, Molly & Ed were adopted from Hope to Home for Cats in Yucaipa and Penelope found us!
The boarding office is the home of our SIX rescue birds: Timber and Wally, the African Greys; Louie, Yellow Nape Amazon Parrot; Baby Girl, a Cockatiel; Carusso, a Red Headed Lored; and Miss Scarlett, a Scarlet Macaw. Come by and meet them! There is never a dull moment when you have SIX talking parrots and a cockatiel that sings the entire rendition of “The Andy Griffith Show!” And, yes! We do board birds!
You can always count on us and our furkids to help your pets adjust to the “suite life” at Renaissance Pet Resort.
